FOOTBALL - JUNIORS
Perth AFC and Western Knights Soccer Club have teamed up for the growth of Junior Football and Junior Futsal in Western Australia.
In the first agreement of its kind the two clubs have joined forces in what both clubs believe will grow their separate football and futsal junior programs, offering their players unique development pathways in either outdoor football, futsal, or both.
Along with the support from the City of Cockburn, the two clubs recently signed a Memorandum of Association, remaining as separate entities continuing as their own clubs but working together to grow the Western Knights Junior Football teams and the Perth AFC Junior Futsal teams. As part of the agreement Western Knights have offered Perth AFC full use of Len Packham Reserve in Coolbellup for the Perth AFC Senior men’s and women’s teams.
“We see this as a great opportunity to grow as a club as well as assisting Western Knights SC to grow their junior programs.
We are very grateful that Western Knights has offered us a new home ground in Len Packham Reserve for our outdoor teams. I personally am looking forward to working with Western Knights to help grow and develop both sports in Western Australia.”
– Rob Caruso (Perth AFC President)
Western Knights Soccer Club President Gordana Sliskovic also added "We are delighted to be working with Perth AFC to grow and develop our Junior players and build on the great success we've already had in the City of Cockburn.
Futsal is one of the fastest growing versions of soccer and we can see many advantages for all our players both at Nash Field in Mosman Park and at Len Packham, who have direct access to a highly professional and successful futsal club in Perth AFC, ranging all the way through our Juniors to Seniors, male and female"
