I Think We've Got A Great Deal To Look Forward To This Season: Celesti

Updated: Apr 11, 2019

Perth AFC began its journey in Amateur division 4 with a tough home game against Swan Valley, A side who finished 6th last year.

We started the game on the front foot and created a few great chances but our profligacy in front of goals meant we went into the half time break at 0-0.

Second half we pushed for an opening goal and found it through a Sean Claude cross that was turned into the net by a Swan defender to make it 1 nil! After a few more missed chances, our boys dropped off their intensity and Swan Valley increased theirs and they equalized with 20 mins to go. That seemed to deflate our boys after dominating long periods of the game and in the 90+ minute Swan Valley scored to make it 2-1.

From kick off we won a free kick and D'ulisse pumped it into the box which caused havoc to the Swan defenders and Caruso was on hand to flick it into the net to make it 2-2 with the last play of the day! Although disappointed with not getting the home win desired, a point after looking like all was lost is a consolation! Still plenty of improvement from our League side, and with reserves having a good 3-2 win, i think we've got a great deal to look forward to this season.
