Perth AFC travelled to Swan Valley on Sunday to take on Swan Valley FC in a game we knew we must win after our defeat to Bassendean last weekend!
With a couple of players out due to injury and coming up against a team who've only lost one game, the boys were determined to get the win against adversity. We got off to a great start, 5 mins in Clary won a free kick just outside the box and D'Ulisse finished into the top corner making it 1-0 and exactly the start we wanted, but Swan really put us under pressure and Richins pulled off a couple of great saves to keep us 1-0 up at half time.
Second half Swan Valley came out firing but our defence and keeper held firm, then a great solo run from Prince Cooper down the right had him score from a tight angle to make it 2-0 and that seemed to deflate Swan to the point that the last 25 mins we saw out the game comfortably and secured a much needed 3 points against a very good side! Full credit to all the players, it was a gutsy effort!
A mention to the AFC Reserves who continued on their merry way with a hard fought 2-1 win and a herculean effort by our Metros side who almost pulled of a miraculous win against Leeming, being down to 10 men most of the game and only conceding in the last minute to draw 2-2.
